The Just Because Foundation provides a Home Away From Home (HAFH) for children with cancer and their families. The facility is located in East Trinidad within minutes from the Children’s Hospital at Mount Hope, transportation, shopping areas and other amenities. The facility provides short-term accommodation for up to two families (one parent and child per room) in a carefully designed, relaxing and supportive environment. Basic food items are provided by the JBF and parents are free to prepare meals in a well-equipped kitchen.
There is also WiFi and Cable TV, a washer & dryer and reading and activity books, board games and toys. The HAFH is within a gated compound with CCTV which provides added security and peace of mind.
We launched the Just Because Foundation Home Away From Home on August 2nd 2007, which would have been Jabez’s 6th birthday. So each year, as we mark the anniversary of the JBF, we also sing Happy Birthday to JB, the boy behind the Joy!
